The Gravity Forms Advanced Post Creation Add-On is a powerful official extension designed to bridge the gap between form submissions and WordPress content management. Unlike the standard “Post Fields” in Gravity Forms, which are limited to basic posts, this add-on allows for much deeper integration with your site’s architecture.
This is EXACTLY the same product as distributed by the developer. Sales Page
Key Features & Capabilities
-
Support for Any Post Type: Create standard Posts and Pages, or any Custom Post Type (CPT) registered on your site (e.g., Products, Events, Listings).
-
Frontend Post Editing (New in v1.6): Users can now edit their previous submissions from the frontend using the same form. It includes an APC Post List block and shortcode to show users a dashboard of their own posts.
-
Media Library Integration: Automatically move uploaded files (images, PDFs, etc.) from the form entry into the WordPress Media Library and attach them to the created post.
-
Taxonomy & Category Mapping: Assign terms to any taxonomy associated with the post type, including tags, categories, or custom taxonomies.
-
Advanced Field Mapping: Map form fields to:
-
Post Title and Content (supports Merge Tags for dynamic templates).
-
Post Excerpt, Status (Draft, Pending, Published), and Author.
-
Custom Fields (Post Meta): Manually map to existing meta keys or create new ones.
-
-
Conditional Logic: Set specific rules so a post is only created if certain form criteria are met (e.g., only if a “Submit for Review” checkbox is ticked).

Important Limitations
-
Does Not Create CPTs: The add-on cannot register new Custom Post Types or Taxonomies for you. You must create these first using a plugin like CPT UI or via your
functions.phpfile. -
ACF Integration: While it maps to Custom Fields, complex Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) types like Repeaters or Gallery fields often require the
{apc_media}merge tag or custom code snippets to map correctly, as they store data in specific formats. -
No Retroactive Creation: It generally creates posts upon new submissions or updates via its own workflow; it doesn’t automatically turn 500 existing old entries into posts unless you trigger them.
