The GeoDirectory Custom Post Types (CPT) plugin is a premium extension for the GeoDirectory framework. It allows you to expand your directory beyond the default “Places” to include any number of distinct listing types like Doctors, Real Estate, Events, or Classifieds.

Each CPT you create gets its own unique Drag-and-Drop Form Builder. This means:
Custom Fields: You can have specific fields for “Doctors” (e.g., Medical License #) that don’t appear for “Hospitals.”
Unique Categories: Separate taxonomy trees for each post type.
Field Types: Access to 40+ field types including text, select, file uploads, and date pickers.
One of the plugin’s most powerful specs is the ability to link post types.
Relationship Types: One-to-one, one-to-many, or many-to-many.
Use Case: Link a “Doctor” to a “Hospital.” On the Hospital page, a tab can automatically display all linked Doctors.
Design: Includes a gd_linked_posts widget/shortcode to display these connections.
While GeoDirectory is map-centric, this extension allows you to toggle “Disable Physical Location” per CPT.
This is ideal for directory items that are purely online (e.g., websites, software services, or digital products) and removes the address/map requirements from the submission form.
You can assign specific WordPress pages to act as templates for each CPT:
Details Page: The layout for a single listing.
Archive Page: The list/grid view of all listings in that category.
Archive Item: The design of the individual “card” within the search results.
SEO Overrides: Set unique Meta Titles and Descriptions for the archive pages of each specific post type.
User Controls: Enable or disable Comments, Ratings, and “Favorite” buttons on a per-CPT basis.
Frontend Submissions: Choose whether users can add listings for that specific CPT from the frontend or if it’s admin-only.
