The MemberPress Course Assignments add-on is a functional extension for the MemberPress Courses LMS. It shifts your curriculum from passive consumption (videos/text) to active learning by allowing students to submit work for review.

Availability: Requires a MemberPress Growth or Scale plan (not available on the “Launch” plan).
Requirement: Must have the core MemberPress plugin and the MemberPress Courses add-on installed and active.
Editor Interface: Fully integrated with the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg). You use a dedicated “Assignment” block to create the submission area.
The add-on supports several submission formats to accommodate different subjects:

| File Uploads | Supports common formats: Documents (DOCX, PDF), Spreadsheets (XLSX), Slideshows (PPTX), and Images (JPG, PNG). |
| URL Submission | Ideal for web developers, designers, or writers to link to live portfolios or external articles. |
| Video/Audio | Students can upload media files for presentation-based or speaking assignments. |
Within the Assignment Editor, you can configure specific logic for each task:
Points Possible: Set a numerical value for the assignment to be tracked in the Gradebook.
Character Limits: Define minimum/maximum character counts for essay-style responses.
Allowed File Types: Toggle specific extensions (e.g., only allow PDFs) to prevent unwanted file formats.
Resubmission: Toggle whether a student can try again after receiving feedback or if the first submission is final.
Access Rules: Like any MemberPress content, you can protect assignments using MemberPress Rules (e.g., only “Gold Members” can access Assignment A).
The Gradebook: Automatically populates with student submissions. Instructors can view, grade, and leave private feedback.
Student Dashboard: Students can track their status (Pending, Graded, or Needs Resubmission) directly from their course progress page.
Notifications: Automated emails can be triggered when an assignment is submitted or when a grade/feedback is posted.
Go to MemberPress > Add-ons.
Search for Assignments.
Click Install Add-on.
Navigate to your Course Curriculum, and you will now see an “Add Assignment” option alongside “Add Lesson” and “Add Quiz.”
