The wpDiscuz – User & Comment Mentioning addon is a premium extension for the wpDiscuz WordPress plugin. It introduces social-media-style tagging (using @ and #) to your comment section, significantly boosting user engagement by notifying participants when they are mentioned.

User Mentioning (@username): * Typing the @ symbol triggers an AJAX-powered autocompletion search.
Search results display user avatars and names for easy selection.
Works for both registered users and guests (if enabled).
Comment Mentioning (#comment-id): * Users can tag specific comments by their ID (e.g., #42).
The addon adds a small button to the top-right of each comment to easily copy its ID.
Clicking a mentioned comment link “jumps” the user directly to that specific comment on the page.
Interactive Pop-ups:
User Pop-up: Hovering over a @mention displays a tooltip with the user’s avatar, name, and basic info.
Comment Pop-up: Hovering over a #comment-id shows a preview of that comment’s text so users don’t have to scroll away.

Email content and subjects are fully customizable via the admin settings.

Once installed, settings are found under wpDiscuz > Settings > Addons Tab > User & Comment Mentioning.
UI Controls: Enable/disable the “@” user search or the “#” comment tracking individually.
Permissioning: Choose which user roles are allowed to mention others.
Search Logic: Configure whether the autocompletion searches by Username, Nicename, or Display Name.
Throttling: Includes options to limit the number of mentions allowed per single comment to prevent spam.
