The MemberPress Cancel Override add-on is a churn-reduction tool designed to intercept members at the moment they attempt to cancel their subscriptions. Instead of a standard “Are you sure?” confirmation, it allows you to redirect them to a custom landing page with incentives to stay.
This is EXACTLY the same product as distributed by the developer. Sales Page
Core Functionality
-
Redirect Interception: Replaces the default MemberPress cancellation confirmation popup with a redirect to a custom WordPress page.
-
Shortcode Integration: Uses
[mepr-cancel-override]or[mepr-cancel-override-url]to render the actual cancellation link on your custom page, ensuring the “handshake” between the user and the payment gateway (Stripe/PayPal) is still handled securely. -
Targeted Offers: Allows you to create “Step-by-Step” cancellation journeys where you can offer downgrades, free trials, or pause options before the final exit.

Key Features
-
Global & Per-Membership Settings: You can set a universal “Save” page for all members or create unique exit offers for specific membership tiers.
-
Churn Analytics: When combined with standard MemberPress reporting, it helps track how many users were “saved” by the override page versus those who completed the cancellation.
-
Exit Surveys: You can embed third-party form plugins (like WPForms or Formidable Forms) on the override page to collect data on why users are leaving.
-
Dynamic Messaging: Supports custom text for the “final” cancellation link to make it less clinical (e.g., “I still want to end my benefits”).
Setup Requirements
-
Enable Manual Cancellation: You must first go to
MemberPress > Settings > Accountand check “Allow Members to Cancel their own subscriptions.” -
Plugin Activation: The add-on must be installed via
MemberPress > Add-ons. -
Landing Page: You must create a dedicated WordPress page to act as the “Override” destination. Crucially, this page must contain one of the two shortcodes mentioned above, or the user will have no way to actually finish the cancellation, which can lead to compliance/support issues.
