The Webhooks add-on introduces two main “directions” for your data:
You can trigger a webhook based on any event happening on your WordPress site.
How it works: When a specific “Trigger” occurs (e.g., a user buys a product or completes a course), AutomatorWP sends a package of data (JSON) to a URL you provide.
Example: When a student finishes a course in LearnDash, send their name and email to Mailchimp via a webhook to add them to a “Graduates” newsletter.
This allows external apps to trigger actions inside your WordPress site.
How it works: AutomatorWP provides you with a unique URL. When another app sends data to that URL, AutomatorWP can create a user, update a profile, or enroll them in a membership.
Example: When a payment is successful in Stripe (external), send a webhook to your WordPress site to automatically unlock a specific GamiPress rank for that user.
Connect “Unconnectable” Apps: If a plugin doesn’t have a direct integration, you can almost always use a webhook to bridge the gap.
Cross-Site Automation: You can connect two different WordPress sites. For example: “When a user registers on Site A, automatically create an account for them on Site B.”
Advanced Data Mapping: You can “map” incoming data fields to specific WordPress user meta or post fields, ensuring the right info goes to the right place.
