The primary goal of this plugin is to ensure your email lists stay in sync with your member database without manual entry.
Automatic Synchronization: Automatically adds or removes members from specific MailPoet lists when they sign up, upgrade, or cancel a membership.
Per-Membership Mapping: You can assign different MailPoet lists to different MemberPress membership levels (e.g., “Gold” members go to the “VIP List,” while “Free” members go to “General News”).
Opt-in Checkbox: Adds a GDPR-friendly newsletter signup checkbox to your MemberPress registration pages.
Member Status Triggers:
Signup: Adds user to list.
Cancellation: Removes user or moves them to a “Former Member” list.
Expiration: Triggers specific “Win-back” email sequences via MailPoet.
Data Mapping: Syncs member metadata (First Name, Last Name, etc.) to MailPoet custom fields for personalized email campaigns.
To run the MemberPress MailPoet add-on effectively, your environment should meet the following requirements:
| Requirement | Specification |
| WordPress Version | 6.0 or higher (Latest version recommended) |
| PHP Version | 7.4 or higher (8.2+ recommended) |
| MemberPress Version | Requires MemberPress Business or Pro edition |
| MailPoet Version | MailPoet 3 (Free or Premium) |
| Database | MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+ |
| Server | Apache or NGINX (IIS is not officially supported by MailPoet) |
Install the Add-on: Navigate to MemberPress > Add-ons within your WordPress dashboard and search for “MailPoet.”
Enable the Integration: Go to MemberPress > Settings > Marketing tab to find the MailPoet configuration.
List Selection: Choose a “Global” list for all members or set “Per-Membership” lists within the individual Membership edit screens under the Advanced tab.
Double Opt-In: MailPoet typically requires a confirmation email. If you want members added instantly without a second confirmation, you may need to adjust your MailPoet settings (though this is restricted if using the MailPoet Sending Service).
For more complex needs (like applying specific tags or triggering conditional logic), many users pair MemberPress and MailPoet with a third-party bridge:
WP Fusion: Allows for deep tagging based on MemberPress actions.
Uncanny Automator: Enables multi-step automations (e.g., “If a user completes a course in MemberPress, tag them in MailPoet and send a ‘Congrats’ email”).
