This extension allows administrators to “impersonate” a user. Unlike just looking at a backend profile, you see exactly what the customer sees on the frontend, including their specific pricing, discounts, and saved cart items.
Manual Order Creation: Place orders on behalf of customers using the frontend checkout process. This ensures that shipping calculations, coupons, and custom product fields work exactly as they would for the buyer.
Customer Troubleshooting: If a customer reports a bug (e.g., “I can’t see my member discount”), you can log in as them to see if the issue is reproducible.
Guest Shopping: You can shop as a guest to create orders for new customers who don’t have an account yet.
Automatic Data Population: When switching to a customer, their billing and shipping details are automatically filled in at checkout.
Once installed, the workflow is typically very streamlined:
Switching: In the WordPress Admin bar (top of the screen) or the WooCommerce Orders page, click “Switch to Customer.”
Searching: Enter the customer’s email or name in the search box.
Acting: The site will reload. You are now “browsing as [Customer Name].” You can add items to the cart, apply their specific coupons, and complete the checkout.
Reverting: Click the “Switch Back” button in the notification bar at the top of the site to return to your admin dashboard.
