Checkout: The customer selects “Cheque” as their payment method at the checkout screen.
Instructions: After clicking “Pay,” the customer is shown a “Thank You” page containing specific instructions (e.g., “Please make cheques payable to [Your Company] and mail to [Address]”).
Pending State: The invoice status in your WordPress dashboard is set to Pending.
Manual Verification: Once you physically receive the cheque and it clears your bank, you manually change the invoice status to Paid in the GetPaid admin area. This triggers any “Success” actions, such as sending a digital download link or starting a subscription.
To set this up, you navigate to GetPaid > Settings > Payment Gateways > Cheque Payments. You can configure the following:
Activate: Toggle to enable/disable the gateway.
Checkout Title: The name visible to the customer (e.g., “Mail a Cheque” or “Bank Draft”).
Description: A brief explanation shown below the title at checkout.
Instructions: Detailed text that appears on the success page and in the customer’s email (Payee name, Mailing address, etc.).
Priority: Adjust where this appears in the list of available payment methods.
