To run this extension effectively, your server and WordPress environment should meet these minimums:
WordPress Version: 4.7 or higher.
GetPaid Core Plugin: Version 1.0.0 or higher.
PHP Version: 5.6 or higher (7.4+ recommended for security).
SSL Certificate: Required (Braintree requires HTTPS to process live transactions).
Braintree Account: A valid Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key from Braintree.
On-Site Checkout: Customers enter their card details directly on your website via Braintree’s secure “Hosted Fields,” which helps with PCI compliance while keeping the UI seamless.
Global Card Support: Accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diner’s Club.
Sandbox Mode: Includes a dedicated testing toggle so you can use Braintree sandbox credentials to simulate successful and failed payments before going live.
Transaction Management: View transaction IDs and payment statuses directly within the GetPaid “Payments” menu in your WordPress dashboard.
Webhooks Support: Integrates with Braintree webhooks to automatically update payment statuses (e.g., marking an invoice as “Paid” once the bank confirms the funds).
Once installed, you can configure the gateway by navigating to GetPaid > Settings > Payment Gateways > Braintree. You will need to input the following for both Sandbox and Live environments:
Merchant ID
Public Key
Private Key
Credit Card Statement Name: A custom descriptor (up to 22 characters) that appears on your customer’s bank statement.
