The Directorist PayPal Payment Gateway is a premium extension for the Directorist WordPress plugin. It is designed to automate monetization for directory websites by allowing users to pay for listings, featured placements, and recurring subscriptions via PayPal.

Recurring Payments: Supports a subscription-based business model, allowing you to automatically charge users at set intervals (monthly, yearly, etc.).
Sandbox/Test Mode: Includes a built-in testing environment to verify the checkout process using PayPal Sandbox credentials before going live.
Guest Checkout: Allows users to pay via credit/debit cards without necessarily logging into a PayPal account (depending on their region).
Instant Notifications (IPN): Uses PayPal’s IPN to automatically update the status of directory listings (e.g., from “Pending” to “Published”) immediately after a successful transaction.
Global Reach: Supports 200+ markets and various currencies, which can be configured directly in the Directorist Monetization settings.
Simple Configuration: Only requires a PayPal Business Email or API credentials for basic setup.
To use this gateway, you must ensure the following are configured within your WordPress site:
Monetization Enabled: You must go to Directorist Listings > Settings > Monetization and toggle Enable Monetization Feature to “Yes.”
Required Pages: You must have designated “Checkout,” “Payment Receipt,” and “Transaction Failure” pages assigned in the Directorist settings.
PayPal Business Account: A standard personal PayPal account may not support all features; a Business Account is highly recommended for handling automated API calls.
