Once an event happens on your site, you can tell Campaign Monitor to:
Add user to list (Free version)
Update user in list (Pro version)
Delete user from list (Pro version)
Add/Update/Delete subscriber from list (Pro version – often used for non-WP users or custom data)
Field Mapping: You can map WordPress user data (like Name, Bio, or Custom Meta) to custom fields in Campaign Monitor.
Tag Support: Use “tags” to pass dynamic information. For example, you can pass the title of the post the user commented on directly into a Campaign Monitor field.
Anonymous Automations: You can trigger actions for guest visitors (e.g., someone who fills out a form but doesn’t have an account).
Developer Friendly: It includes hooks and filters if you need to build highly custom logic.
Install: You need the core (free) AutomatorWP plugin plus the Campaign Monitor add-on.
Connect: Go to AutomatorWP > Settings > Integrations and click on Campaign Monitor. You will need your API Key and Client ID from your Campaign Monitor account settings.
Create: Go to AutomatorWP > Automations > Add New. Choose “Logged-in” or “Anonymous,” select your trigger (e.g., “User fills out a form”), and set the action to “Campaign Monitor: Add user to list.”
